Default Shropshire ACF Cloth Badges

Help, I need help in obtaining a Shropshire ACF Cloth Beret Badge and Scarlet Shoulder Title to the Royal Logistic Corps. I have been let down twice by Adult Instructors I met at the RLC Open Day and my letter ignored.

Anyone got a contact?

The QM and CEO both changed recently, apparently the new team aren't quite as obliging as the old team were. (I managed to get both the title and the beret badge a couple of years ago). There are actually only three detachment in Shropshire ACF wearing the RLC badge. Not much help but might explain why you have had no reply.

WELL, I have a picture of such an item, but no idea who wore it?

I did ask if it was worn within London District, but no joy.

Not Shropshire ACF as far as I know? But would be pleased to find out.

I have a few mystery RAOC/RLC items I plan to ask about.

I found this picture on the Shropshire ACF Web Site showing 3 of the Cloth Beret Badges & Shoulder Titles being worn

Rifles - Royal Signals - Royal Logistic Corps

Mike

Shropshire ACF actually wear FOUR different cloth shoulder titles. The one you missed out is worn by units badged to the Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry

Dom,

Welcome, whilst there is a great article in the MHS Bulletin of November 1967 by Geoff Archer Parfitt showing cloth and metal badges worn by cadet units affiliated to the KSLI, I imaging anyone trying to find published information on insignia worn between then and now will find it hard.

Can I suggest that if you can post on the Forum any information on what is currently being worn ,it will be a great help to future collectors.

Dom, I did write to the Shropshire ACF HQ & QM as well as the three RLC Detachments, and not one of them replied, despite enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

I also spoke to the RLC Major and one of the AI's at the Royal Logistic Corps Open Day at Deepcut who promised to obtain one but were never heard of again. The Cadets were defantly wearing RLC Cloth Badges back in June 2009, as for now I do not know. But would still like examples for my RLC Collection none the less.

If anyone can help obtain them I would be greatfull.

I still live in hope.

As an afternote, I have a RAOC Cloth Beret Badge as worn by the Telford Detachment till 1993, and have one for trade for the RLC example.

Robin Hodges has a fair bit of info on ACF/CCF and OTC's in his book 'British Army Badges' but there are gaps in his information.
