It looks okay, from the photographs you show, what are your concerns?

Hello Frank,my concern is my lack of knowledge with British badge collecting, firearms and accoutrements are my main field of collecting.

The lugs look too modern for a badge over 60 years old, I don't like it.
Rounded footed lugs are a bad sign on badges of this era, imo.

Looks ok to me, i think the feet on lugs can be deceiving, to me these look ok, the ones to look out for are more prominent in the foot of the lug being more exposed and to quote an old member to have a '' dustbin lid '' like appearance, I stand to be corrected but as with a few others it looks ok to me.

It all comes down to opinion, deadeye. No one here can give you a cast iron guarantee based on photographs, but overall the view is that it's a good one.
I disagree with that conclusion. Good luck with your collecting

Thanks Parabellum,I never realized how much of a minefield this part of collecting would be and I was very surprised at how long these badges have been faked for!I intend on collecting anything to do with the sherwood foresters and the Derbyshire regiment in particular.I already have a few bits that I'll post up soon.

Hi Deadeye

Great shooting, of the photographs. I don't like the look of the 'Footed" lugs on this one and the badge its self looks to be very new and shiny, but I stand to be corrected if necessary.

Regards Phil.

Cheers Phil, the badge looks shinier in the pics than it does in hand but not by much if you get what I mean.I cleaned it about a week before I took the pictures aswell because it was rather grubby.I can't comment on the lugs as I don't know enough yet.
