Hi Phil

Looks like the Special Constabulary Long Service ribbon with the red faded to orange.

It's a cross between that and the British Fire Service Association Commendation Medal.

It looks like a Special Constabulary medal though the black stripes are a bit too narrow.

Quite probable looking at the width of the stripes. Nice one, thanks That must relate to the Essex badge.

Greetings old chap.

What a splendid collection of family related items, get them in frames with the history and any piccies of those involved; a fab memento to them all.

Can't help with the meddl ribbon though, had a peruse on t'intetweb, couldn't find it.

Regards.

Brian

Thanks Brian, I have the items now and I am pleasantly surprised by the badges. The two West Riding badges are maker marked FN BHam, the RA is a nice worn example with a reinforced crown.

There is paperwork that goes with the badges, the family are keeping those

I think the medal ribbon is a Defence Medal, the back looks like it may be slightly green. I will see in daylight.
