Default 21st Lancers. How many Lugs.

Can someone clarify how many lugs a genuine 21st Lancers badge should have.
I have one with only 2 lugs but I see there is one with four lugs on ebay. I am refering to the 1899-1901 version.

Cheers Paul

Crossed lance (no cypher) Victorian has two, upright lance four as does the QVC crossed lance with cypher. I've yet to see a KC crossed lance with cypher with anything other than a shank.

Thanks. That clears things up. I guess my QVC vertical lances is just a very good copy then. No sign of missing lugs.

Have a look in the British Cavalry Badges project - the angle of the pennons is what to look for, plus the r/h upstroke of the V in the cypher is complete. These are a better indicator than the number of loops.
