Default Hawke Battalion

Can I have some opinions on this Hawke Battalion cap badge please, the Gaunt tablet on the reverse is 7mm in length, the tablets on other RND cap badges I have measure just over 8mm in length, is that of any significance as regards originality? Any comments welcome, cheers,

Paul

Paul

Your badge also looks good to me. The Gaunt tablets are usually crudely made so I wouldn’t worry about 1mm.

Tim

Is your badge Gaunt marked? Is there any chance of seeing a picture.

Paddy

Thanks a lot for the replies guys I appreciate it, it looked ok but its always nice to get confirmation. Tim, I've personally never seen a Hawke cap badge with North-South loops but others with more knowledge might be able to help, as Paddy mentioned, photos would help, cheers,

Paul

Never seen one with N-S loops before, very nice badge. I’ve also seen a couple Gaunt made Hawke badges with E-W brass stamped lugs. Clearly there was a degree of variation as to type of fixings and their position at the Gaunt factory.
