Default Brass From Germany 1945

At the end of the war enterprising Germans made some items in brass for sale to the British troops, complete with their formation sign.

I have seen ash trays, pillboxes and ink stands. No doubt there are more.

To date I have only seen these "badged" to 1st corps and to the 49th infantry division.

Has anybody seen these to other formations?

PS

Do not be fooled by the photo. You would not be bidding on a big chunky ash tray. Just an ersatz thing not much thicker than a beer mat, and the size of the palm of your hand.

Same period, but not brass. Of interest since variations on the ashtray design are the only record of this unit's sign. I don't think it was ever worn on uniform as a cloth flash. Mike
