Default Thoughts on this badge please

I THINK this 5th Royal Irish Lancers is ok but not totally sure. I have it as an officers cap badge. Although it looks good from the front and has sweat holes ( also behind the pennons) it does not have the same type of lugs that my other officer badges have, IE silver coloured lugs ETC. The whole badge seems a bit flimsy, again all my other officers badges are quite substantial. Could it be a collar ?

I would say you have there a nice ORs cap badge from the Victorian/Edwardian period prior to the introduction of sliders.

thanks for the info luke. since I am actively trying to collect Victorian cap badges this is good news. I keep any officers cap badges that come my way as part of other bits and bobs I may pick up.
