A Couple of Buttons For ID Please
As it says above, a couple of buttons for identification please:-
1) A hollow backed gilt button makers marked Firmin London, front bears a King's crown above gothic script letters "RNB" 2) A cap or waistcoat size button with either a Victorian or Georgian crown above a monogram. Two part button, silver monogram mounted on a silver coloured button. Any assistance gratefully received. Please note that I will be disposing of these buttons once identified. Thanks in advance PL |

NOT Royal Naval Barracks
Like so many unidentified buttons the first button has been given an invented name. It is being sold as "royal naval barracks".
There is no evidence and I think it is not correct. As it is not a very rare button it may have been widely used (or a big box of new old stock was broken up and sold long ago) A scan of the rear of the second button may help dating it. |

I think the second one is Royal Fusiliers.

Another contender might be Royal Naval Base. I know these were officially designated 'His Majesty's Naval Base, but Royal and His Majesty may perhaps be transposed?
