Default National Volunteer Reserve

Can anyone shed any light on this body?

The internet is strangely quiet on its existence which seems to have started in September 1914 and it was probably swallowed up by the Volunteer Training Corps. I have found the attached image of a lapel badge. Can anyone provide further information please?

Default NVR

Jon,

In Feb 1915 there was a Wanstead National Volunteer Reserve, under command of South West Essex Bn, NVR. It existed simultaneously to |Wanstead VTC. Also in the Bn were Leytonstone NVR, plus Detachments in Ilford and West Ham.

I have yet to trace any other units nationally.

Attached scan is of an unidentified cloth badge and I wondered if it was related in some way.

Stephen.
