Default Herts bits

Evening All,
I picked up a bag of mixed bits to the Herts Regt, Herts Yeo, Beds Regt & Beds Yeo plus Beds & Herts today, thanks to Magpie who got it for me. Some lovely bits in there, mainly titles & collars, but a few cap badges too. I have shown pics first of an early collar badge (520 Churchill) blackened gilding metal for the 2nd Herts Rifle Vols, stated that this was also worn facing the other way on the slouch & F.S hats, also worn as a cap badge by Berkhamsted OTC. Second is a Herts collar pattern (2003 Churchill) which states it was worn as a beret badge with a slider fitted, mine has no sign of any lugs ever being present. 3rd is a Herts Yeo badge which has had the antlers flattened with a hammer for some reason !! More like oak leaves now !!! I will be putting these in my album too, all the best, Wilf.

I think he took on the Springwatch champ & lost, not going to try to straighten it, that's why there's so many with antlers missing !!
Wilf.

Default Herts bits

Wilf,
Attached pictures are of an OSD collar used as a headdress badge. The item isn't mine (sadly).

Regards, Stephen.
