Scottish Officer SNCO badges are very varied and it doesn't look Bazaar made, the lugs are of a type I have on a Seaforth.

They are all typical officer/snco badges, all being fully cast in two parts. Some of this badges can be found partially cast with just the stag being so, the wreath die struck per this example.
There is no way to make 3D badges such as these other than by casting. Since these badges were made by many different makers and jewellers over the 100 plus years of use, it can be hard to determine what was made for the Army and what was made for civilian use. They are still being made. CB PS, these 3D Gordon badges were also seen in wear on some junior nco headgear in the 1980s. I am guessing they may have been legacy badges handed down. This was apparently permitted in other regiments as well. See my comments on the Black Watch in the Infantry badge section.

I find the problem with these badges is putting them in a frame, I have yet to frame mine, I think it will have to be custom made.

I Love them!
Some have had the Antlers clipped? maybe one broke and other removed to make it look the same, or just personal preference, none have any Hallmarks but all look stunning! |
