Default German Oak Wreath Badge Gold Coloured

A badge of yellow metal or with a yellow metal finish, bearing the Assman company "A" logo and measuring about 40mm X 35mm.
Presumably it's German, does anybody know from which era, for which organisation and where worn, possibly on collar patch, cap?
From the fittings I'm thinking perhaps a collar patch insignia?
