Default solder problem

Managed to pick up what I think is a very nice Worcestershire badge... Unfortunately whoever re-soldered the lugs was a sloppy worker. The solder over ran the back and messed up part of the scroll... My question is has anyone faced this problem before and if so how did they get the solder off.
Scrape it off... use a soldering iron to try and reheat and then scrape off?
Any help appreciated... Jim

you can try this. Heat the badge slowly till you think the solder is about to flow, then using a new wire brush, and supporting the area you are about to brush, go across the solder and watch it flick off till its all gone. If I was you, pratice on some other soldered items.

Jim,
I'd send it to Davec2 and have it repaired properly, he will probably find blade scars under the solder. More likely the original fixings rather than lugs as they break off much easier.
Regards Tony.

Hello Jim,
I think that the badge is a very nice example of its type, it is ruined by those lugs and I'd rather see just the remains of the original fixings rather than those, get rid of them!
Regards Frank
