148th (Bedfordshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment, RA

Does anybody know what cap badge the 148th (Bedfordshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment, RA wore during WW2. I’d assume RA badge but did they ever wear the Beds Yeomanry cap badge?

It's complicated and there was a lot of variance between Yeomanry RA regiments.

When the Bedofrdshire Yeomanry converted to RA they adopted the RA cap badge and it was worn into WW2 as seen here: http://www.roll-of-honour.com/Bedfor...lofHonour.html

During the war (especially circa 1944) there was a resurgence of Yeomanry badges being worn: somethime by the officers only(Worcestershire yeo) and sometimes by all ranks. With the raising of duplicate regiments some like the Berkshire Yeomenry regiments did different things!

Thanks Alan it’s to go with a medal group so I think I’ll stick with RA my man was captured at the fall of Singapore.

Although not Bedfordshire yeomanry but Herts so it take it will be a similar to my grandfather's head stone, 40 years agoI had a picture of him in tunic puttees and 08 belt at camp, the bronzed RA cap badge and modified Bedford collars were pick out of the skip 30 years ago at Watford dump tied together.

They wore the RA cap badge and before the introduction of BD they wore the eagle and castle collar badges. My wife's father served in 148th Field Regiment and became a Singapore POW.
