I guess it is not gilded, more the natural colour of yellow brass. The slider is marked with "BUTTONS LTD BHAM I found a lot of threads about badges for the Royal Artillery, but i am still not shure which size was worn on which headdress ? Is this one for OR and the beret ? Sorry for so much questions .... and thanks in advance Markus |

Thanks Mark !
I hope my K&K volume 2 will arrive soon, so might be i will have less questions .... I gues the wider versions ~ 65mm are for the visor caps, "Officer Service Dress". Kind regards Markus |

Sorry Simon,
i am a little bit confused about the usernames ..... Thanks for your correction, i think i understand now ( after reading once more across some literature ) the diffent styles of visored caps used since 1902. The "service cap" is the stiffened version for the service dress. Others were less stiff und used as trench or forage caps. And all ranks wore and wear - in different metal finish - the larger badge on those caps. Thanks and regards Markus |
