Default SASC insignia during WW2

Hi all,

I am looking for any information on the insignia of the SASC during the Second World War. Mainly I am interested in what formation insignia the corps wore, whether this was a particular army group/formation, etc.

Any help with information or photographs would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Richard

Hi Richard,
Just to clarify, are you refering to the South African Service Corps? or Small Arms Service School?
If the later than sorry I cannot assist.

I should think that the majority of SASC personnel were employed at the UK Command or District level and will have worn the Command or District sign as appropriate. The only sign I can think of that may have been unique to the SASC is the ultra-rare sign of the Western Command Weapon Training School ar Altcar, near Formby (crossed SMLE superimposed on the Western Command cross in ring sign). Thanks for the reply guys. It is the army small arms school corps that I am after. Mike, I thought it was likely to be formation signs where attached, I was unsure though. Have you seen any photos of sasc soldiers during the period?

Regards

Rich
