Yes the KEH adopted a Lancers style girdle in 1913.

Find of the year
I did buy a job lot of mainly military items which included this LDV armband, there was still an auction label attached to it from Bosleys.

Rob,
A lovely armband! Any idea what the "H" stands for? Terry |

I agree it is a lovely armband. There's an identical one illustrated in "In the space of a single day" by Jon Mills & Terry Carney attributed to the Hertfordshire LDV. An invaluable reference for HG insignia and uniforms. All best Steve Last edited by Beaker123; 18-12-22 at 11:22 PM. |

My favourite purchase arrived today - a Malayan Kampong Guard badge from the Emergency of the late 1940s/1950s. The Kampong Guard was similar to the Home Guard.

A South Staffordshire regiment cap badge; I purchased it as it had the Holland cloth backing. When it arrived it turned out to be Gaunt made in silver and gilt as a bonus.

Never seen a silver version. The date for these had never been confirmed though I had always suspected WW1 vintage. The 1916 hallmark seems to bear this out. And yet again more proof that Lambourne & Co were known as such. Now just to find out what these were worn on! |
