Hello

I'm with Steve on this one. I have vague memories of some UK boys' comic issuing badges like this as free gifts - the Victor, Battle or similar.

A few odd badges like this have appeared on ebay recently purporting to be military/air force but I think they have all fallen into this category of comic free gift!

Regards
Roger

What memories indeed.

I'm sure I still have my 'Warlord Secret Agent' Id somewhere..

How nice it was growing up before all this technology - or am I just getting old.

Roy.

Hello Roy

I don't think it is you getting old, I think we are all in the same boat, too much technology. Look how it is being used to reproduce badges, buttons and every conceivable type of militaria. It would seem that every Tom, Dick and Harry is at it - no offence Tom, Dick or Harry if you are members of this Forum.

The other day at a car boot sale I saw two reproduction Princess Mary Christmas Gift Tins, complete with mock contents, cards, everything. Much too shiny to be considered original but in a few years time, who knows?

By the way, I think you should put your 'Warlord Secret Agent' Id on ebay. List it as "I am not sure what this is" and "I found it in the attic" (it might help if you say it is "silver" - but that might be pushing things a little too much) and it will probably sell for a fortune as someone will think it is an original World War II agent's ID card! Stranger things have happened!

Regards
Roger

Hi Roger,

Thank you for that and I can't disagree with any of your comments.

My apologies for being complicit in taking this thread astray a little but wouldn't you know I just remembered where my 'Warlord Secret Agent' Id was and thought I would post a photograph.. It might cause a chuckle or too..

And Michael - it was Peter Flint, it's on the docs.

Cheers, Roy.

Lord Peter Flint (Flint).

No, not a good memory, I looked it up.

Marc

Too slow again.

Hello Roy

I think you deserve a smacked wrist, not a chuckle or two! That rather incriminating piece of paper would seem to say "Memorise and Destroy" - emphasise "DESTROY" - you naughty boy, you kept it!

Roger

PS my apologies also for taking this somewhat away from the opening post but those were good comics!

Hi Roger,

You're not wrong there - I remember as clear day thinking "I just paid for this and now they want me to burn it..?" I might have been young but I wasn't stupid - well not too much

Cheers, Roy.

I was also a warlord secret agent , still have badge somewhere (shouldn't really talk about it) lots of classified stuff , secret dens including tree houses, setting up OP's to keep watch on the village hall, lots of special kit like pen knives , candles, and even matches , My mate got caught with matches by his mum
it was not pretty
