J&Co 19th Hussars
Any advice welcome from our cavalry experts. Has anyone seen or got a 19th Hussars badge made by Jennens. If so which version of badge and a photo shared would be excellent. Thanks in advance Ian

The HM silver double scroll pattern was made by Bent & Parker. There’s no bronze single scroll pattern as the officers were likely wearing the Dannenborg and it’s here you’ll possibly find a Firmin one in silver or bronze. OR’s versions are almost certainly not MM’d.

Thanks guys. So no Jennens version for 19th Hussars. By the way what a lovely badge. It would cost a bit!

There is a Jennens 'rubbings book' amongst the Gaunt archives at BMAG - sorry, I only looked at the Infy badges.
also 'back dies' on J&Co badges are quite distinctive. Last edited by KLR; 14-06-19 at 06:46 AM. Reason: correction - 's' |

I seem to remember it sold for over £1000 plus fees.

Still, some badge to have in the collection. It would certainly command centre stage. Keep looking round the car boots👌👌
