RNR bits
A recent purchase threw up this strange backing on a POS hatbadge, was this common. Also the RNR shoulder boards are probably WW1 paymaster Lieutenant but why so scarce, they are the first l have ever seen?

Hi Pembird
I haven't seen that before but there were a lot of little personalisations. Maybe the badge was folding over at the crown and he just wanted to support it. Cheers, Alex |

The RNR cap badges are particularly nice.

Both of those badge lots are stunning. Have you been able to attribute the Rear-Admiral badges?
