Default WW2 GS pin markings

Hi

Have these two pins that have what appears to be a maker's Mark on them. I do not have Rob Johnson's book and was wondering if someone could do me a look-up.

BMCo

The little square with x2 extended sides,

Thanks in advance.

regards
Darrell

Hello Darrell,
The BMCo is Breadner Co. Limited. The square with tabs is likely a company called Stephenson-Osher.
The other makers were Birks, Gaunt, Roden and Smith Nemo.

Hello Bill

Thanks for that.

Is that what is in the book "...likely a company called Stephenson-Osher"?

regards
Darrell

No, that is a deduction from information provided in the book. There is an illustration of the backs of two pins that are identified as made by Stephenson-Osher, which have that design.
It would be interesting to find the markings used by all the makers.

I would think that there are a number of books on hallmarks, jeweller's marks, etc.. These manufacturers made goods for other than military consumption and their other items are probably collectable also - just by different interest groups.
