Default Shiny 7th, or Shiny VII?

I am presuming that there was a breakdown in communication somewhere along the line during production of this Player's card:

Could there have ever been such a version of the Shiny 7th's cap badge?

Peter.

Default Badges on cards

I think that many of the artists who illustrated for the tobacco industry used their imagination and often a fair bit of "licence". This may well have been taken from a stationary crest.

Default 7th London Cigarette Cards

Peter,
Sonofacqms is probably correct and the design is from a crest. Here are scans of two original cards. They are identical although from different series the "blue back" and "brown back". On the card backs is what appears to be a stationery crest with the Roman VII

Phil,
These are from a series of 50 covering the Territorial Force - Infantry and Yeomanry published I think in 1910 - 1911 - but I need to check.
The "blue back" and "brown back" are identical content but were issued separately.
A near set is here

A full set and illustrated here
