Default 11th Hussars officers forage cap c.1950-53

A recent purchase, 11th Hussars Junior officers forage cap made by Herbert Johnson with royal warrant BY APPOINTMENT HATTERS TO HM THE KING, for King George VI before his demise in February 1952.

It is named on the leather cap band to ALLENBY, there were two Allenby's listed as officers in the 11th Hussars, father and son, the 2nd Viscount who served in the 1930's and his son, the 3rd Viscount who joined the regiment in 1951.

I assume it was the son whose cap this formerly was.

It has plan brass ball buttons and the officers frosted gilt badge.
