Thanks Iaian,
My main focus is still militaria, badges, medals and items to South Africans who fought during World War 1 but I have some sidelines as well. Regards, Will |

Hi William
Thanks for the info on the officers cap badge dimensions, was the badge white metal or silver? If WM, were there silver variations? Superb collection Cheers, Alex |

What a great thread with pictures of some very nice items, you dont have to have an interest in a particular regiment to appreciate quality stuff.
Mention was made of the Duke of Atholl in one of the posts and I found a picture I had forgotten about this afternoon it is of the Marquess of Tllibardine MVO DSO ( later the 8th Duke of Atholl ) at the annual inspection of the Liverpool Scottish in 1914. The Marquess is in his uniform as Lt Col.Commandant of the Scottish Horse and the parade was at Sefton Park in Liverpool. P.B.

Thanks for posting this, I've never seen that before. Is that a standard artillery collar badge on a tartan backing or is the badge a bigger version? Do you know what collar badges they wore? Cheers, Alex Last edited by Alex Rice; 17-07-12 at 05:44 PM. Reason: More to add... |
