I didn't want to speak up but I really didn't like the new format and felt myself just not checking in.

This old format it like a comfy old chair..

Pleased it's back.

Cheerio,

Roy

As I have said many times, I am a confirmed Luddite, but, very sad to see the ‘new’ site abandoned, I was just getting used to it.
I hope that Mike has not been ‘got at’ by those even more dinosauric than I.

I didn't mind the new forum and it's not a new format btw. The way photos were displayed was way better than in this style.

I do understand that some, maybe many, had problems with it. I don't care what format it is.

Mike made it clear that the current software is no longer supported. Face it guys an update is unavoidable. Perhaps it may not look and feel as comfortable as we are used to but loosing the forum is even worse.

Mike had the unenviable task of trying to teach an old dog new tricks, sadly the old dog wouldn't listen and was having none of it. I think it's a great shame really. Thanks for trying Mike.

I agree with Hoot, a great shame and a backwards step for the Forum, it will have to undergo updates at some stage and we will need to adapt to use it.

Well done for trying Mike.

Simon.

as much as the old forum format is like a familiar old friend to hang out with, the new format was much the same as many of the other forums have been for a few years, such as the great war forum and sooner or later we all get used to it.

Obviously Mike has to do whats best for him, the stress of setting up the replacement forum must have been hard work and I appreciate that, but in the end the change will come.

What I found strange was that a lot of complaints came from I-Phone/Smart phone users who no doubt have the most up to date software and latest security patches.

I would also like to thank Mike for the Forum. I was just beginning to get my head round the updated version which seemed to work fine on iPadPro and my more ancient desktop. Nobody likes change or the unfamiliar but we are going to have to face it sooner or later. It was also encouraging to see members finding solutions to queries and posting tips to assist others.

Default Good manual needed for the new forum.

I understand the current forum software is no longer supported.
It means it is going to be unsafe.

May I suggest a manual for the new forum in PDF format.
It informs the members of the new location of each item in the old forum. Members can save or print it.

Then collect all complaints and remarks.

e.g. it took me some time to find the login button.
Its bar was white, and so is my browser's top section.
If the bar would have been green I would have recognised it as part of the forum page.

After a month or so we transfer to the new forum.

Welcome back to something that I can understand and have got used to!

I don't use Tw#tter, nor Facetube, Youbook or any of the other (anti) social media "toys".......

This is my social media and a heck of a lot more useful, may I say.

The Forum has put me in touch with some really great people (you know who you are...) with whom I share a common passion and I was more than a little unnerved to think that I was going to have to relearn something else....

OK, you do it but it takes a while.
