Manchester pals
Picked this badge up this week and very pleased with it, Manchester pals cap badge, thin brass with two loops set wide on the reverse. Well polished on the front with a couple of traces of the original bronze finish, much more present on the back, cheers,

A nice original highly polished badge, well done. If only it could talk.

Thanks a lot, I believe a distant relative was killed in action while attached to the 17th Battalion (2nd City battalion) Manchester Regiment from the 1st Bn East Surrey Regiment on the the Somme

They really are lovely things, getting quite expensive too these days.

Indeed Frank, the thin brass can make it seem a little fragile but it's quite a sturdy badge and athough well rubbed it has a nice patina to it, I really like this badge, cheers,

Yes, they really are very distinctive badges, they was a time when they could be found for very little money, not everyone realised what they actually were.
