Thank you for posting those photos, nice to see other Commonwealth Navies insignia of the 2WW period. I never knew of & have never seen the orange triangles/diamonds on the SANF Insignia.

Same in the Canadian Navy & Reserves, 1/2 sleeve rings commenced here in '44 & apparently continued into the post war period, at least till '46-'47.

Alex,

The tunic lace I showed is Engineer Lieut RCNVR 2WW, his tunic named & dated 1944. Purple distinguishing cloth between lace stripes
[somewhat faded due to light].
Assume you had similar branch distinguishing cloth in SANF[?]

I also have had same style lacing for RCN & RCNR 2WW.
