Default RFC wings

Guys got these wings with a RFC brooch pin too.

Here's no fluorescence, they smell Old and the thread burns.
That said the construction looks modern. Any thoughts?opinions?
I will be selling them and don't want to mislead anyone.

Hello Jon,
I don't like the wings and I would have to say they were certainly not made for wear by members of the RFC.
Regards Frank

Frank do you think that they could be made for old vets. Either that or they are made specifically to deceive, what with using no modern thread etc
I didn't pay through the nose for them, and wasn't misled that they were originals, rather I got them with the brooch.
No worries mate and thanks for the heads up
Jon

The cloth wings are modern reproduction, 20 or 30 years old at best. The sort of thing that was around in the 80s.

There were RFC wings made in the WW2 RAF style for RFC veterans who served in the Home Guard etc, but these are not them.

Hello Jon,
No, I do not, what I am saying is simply that they are completely spurious, original wings worn by the RFC are very differant in both the way they were actually made and the materials used.
Regards Frank

Hi Chaps,

While we are chatting about these wings being wrong, would someone like to share a nice photo of a solid set?

Cheers, Roy.

Hi Andy,

By solid I meant totally correct. However I loved the link to your metal example. Lovely!

Cheers, Roy.

Hi Arrestingu,

Wow! wonderful examples - the quality of these really jumps out at you. And don't even get me started about that bullion example simply outstanding and thanks so very much for sharing, a joy to see.

Cheers, Roy.
