Default RAF Officer of Air Rank KC : repro?

Just got this; I have a feeling it is a relatively recent Indian repro. I don't like the cartoony lion, and the orange backing seems unlikely to be WW2 period.

Your thoughts are welcome--thanks!

Thanks guys. I didn't buy it; just weeding out a few bad apples from a collection that I'm selling for the family of a recently-deceased collector. There's some space-fillers that the old boy must have picked up somewhere.

The orange backing (called 'Holland') is correct for wartime badges, but yes this is a modern repro.

Billy, the one in your album is a modern QC one in small size for side cap and beret. The one at the head of this post is a repro KC in large dize for the peaked cap.

Thanks all--confirmed my suspicions. Good to know about the orange backing used in WW2--hadn't heard that before.
