RARE RAF POLICE AUXILIARIES PATCH

HI GUYS
I picked this example up for Julie yesterday has any one encounted this pattern before ? It measures 8.8 cm across by 6.3 cm high

Dear Steve, This was the first pattern RAF Police Auxiliary patch worn on both shoulders. It was designed and issued in 1947/48 along with the Kings Crown cap badge and eventually worn world wide.

Lovely example Steve. Seen a couple, most good nick as they were only worn for a relatively short time.

Hi Steve, Further to my first reply, this patch was replaced in 1958 by the curved RAF Police Auxiliaries title. This image taken in Cyprus on the 17th February 1958 shows the old and new being worn.
