Unusual RAF cap badge

Here is an unusual RAF cap badge, the brass badge has been silver coated, you can see the brass coming through the silver coating. The pictures do not show well but the silver coating is very shiny. The back of the badge has a metall plate, my guess is so that when the badge is worn the fabric from the side cap or peaked hat does not show.

The badge is avaliable for trade or sell if anyone is interested.
