Default leather jerkin buttons

Hello new to this site and I'm hoping someone can help. I have what I believe is a WW2 British Army leather jerkin. I would like to get the correct buttons for it, but do not know: A) What I am looking for ? & B) Where to look for them ? Can anyone help. Thanks.

G’day HB

What you’re looking for is a large brown plastic button with a lip all the way around and 4 holes in the centre to attach it to the jerkin. Sorry mine packed away somewhere so I can’t take a photo for you but look here on google for some great pictures.

As I don’t live in the UK I’ve no idea who might stock them but I would keep an eye open at military fairs and rallies or maybe a member might have a few spare.

Good Luck
John

Cheers John, I'll keep an eye out on ebay, unless I get any other pointers.
