Seaforth flash

I should know this answer to this but can't remember.I think Bill A touched on it on one of the threads. I just picked up a Seaforth flash with a black thin felt like material completely covering the embroidering on the back. this indicates post war? WW2? thanks Jim

That Seaforth's title is post war. War time Seaforths titles used Serif Letters.

Adding to Dwayne's posting, the pattern of title in the image appears to be the type issued for the DEU in the 80's - 90's. Many current and recent issue titles (from the CF period in the 1980's and on) were made with the backing material fixed (glued) over the back and not embroidered through the material. There are some good examples of titles made before that era that have backing material without the embroidery sewn through. However, as a general rule, I am suspicious about titles that do not have embroidery through the backing. If this is the case there are other things to examine to determine if the title is good or repro.
