Default Printed 1 Canadian Parachute Battalion

Just seen this on Ebay. Is this good or are being faked now. It has a very aggressive left to right weave pattern compared to the three i have.

Cheers!

Hi Wally, Not only is the weave wrong, the colours are not right, the green is way off in tone, being too light (which may be the due to the lighting) but there are more serious issues with the lettering. It is "fat" compared to the authentic titles, and the letters in this one have "rounded" edges; they are not crisp and sharp. The edge on image of the title shows a cream or buff coloured edge to the cotton, which should show the colour of the dye. The screens don't register on this example, with a overlap between the green and brown (maroon) that creates a dark line. On my original there is no overlap, and in a few spots there is a faint white line where the screens didn't register properly. And I have never seen the dotted cut lines like the ones on the vendor's title on the printed examples I have.
This is a reproduction or copy title.
A couple of years ago I was shown some reproduction canvas titles that were being made in Holland. This looks like one of their examples. Note, the same vendor has an AIRBORNE strip for sale that is also suspect.

Wally,

There are actually some really good canvas fakes being produced out there. This one you posted, I would not consider in the same league. The ones I am referring to have good colours, texture and design. Only the slightest flaw(s) that you would only notice by handling many of them.

Cheers
