Need Help on this Red wool uniform
Hello everyone ----does anyone know what this uniform is ? I think that it is Canadian ? What I would like to know is what unit and what time period it is from, any help would be be great. This is what I know about the uniform. There are Maple leaves in the bullion stripe on each sleeve. It is named H. Latimer, No 18, 15 LH, Calgary Can . Other marking in coat are 3 F 9-10 36 32 and a capital R in a blue circle. The buttons have a wording on them as follows "semper alacer". Thanks, Mark

Hello Mark,
Think you are absolutely correct; 15th Alberta Light Horse. Take a look at the following photograph; http://cdm16114.contentdm.oclc.org/c...coll15/id/1315. Captioned as the 15th Alberta Light Horse Band in Calgary, but not a musical instrument in sight. Arnhem Jim Arizona Territory Last edited by Arnhemjim; 19-05-15 at 01:04 AM. |

Some additional information. The 15 Alberta Light Horse was formed in 1936 from amalgamations of the 15th Canadian Light Horse and the South Alberta Horse. In turn the 15th Canadian Light Horse had been formed in 1905 as the 15th Light Horse, renamed the 15th Canadian Light Horse in 1920. The LH abbreviation would fit with the period 1905 to 1920. This unit did not mobilize as a unit for the First World War.
