Default COTC Laval

I've had this bi-metal Laval badge for a long time. I've never seen another like it, & it is not mentioned in any reference work I know of.

It's looks to be a pickled brass / white metal two tone. Everything else is normal. It has the small lettering, Ellis type lugs typical of the post WW1 era badges.

Anybody have any knowledge or insights on this one?

Maybe this will turn into a good news / bad news thing. The good news - it's a one of a kind, incredibly rare badge. The bad news - it's a COTC badge so nobody cares, & it's still worth nothing!
