For comparison, here is a typical thick/thin spear badge: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BE156-Brit...item2a37cfca86

The badge itself is not bad looking, but the slider looks rather odd.
Personally I prefer sliders on a Recce badge shaped like this: |

Hello Luc,
If you compare it with even the most basic Recce badge, as here, it just lacks the quality you would expect to see, even on a wartime badge, that, combined with the complete lack of detail, the letters and the slider, all tell me, it is dross! I agree, the shaped slider is an idiot proof way of buying a Recce Corps! Regards Frank |

Nice one Frank, I'm glad we agree on this type of slider.

Hello Luc,
Yes, it is the obvoius and best way to buy a Recce Corps, it takes away any worry at once and they are still available at a reasonable price too. Kind regards Frank Last edited by Frank Kelley; 12-03-14 at 09:55 PM. |

Yes, the shaft should be similar above and below but not always exactly the same, the copies usually have the shaft too fat above the scroll. Another thing to look for is that the lettering goes all the way to the ends of the scroll, copies usually have a gap. Also, and I don't know why, many originals have a kink in the shaft. Lee |
