eBay fake Officers Service Dress
Hopefully this 133835628631( sorry can’t seem to add the link from my phone ) wasn’t won by a forum member, not normally many OSD faked cap badges around but someone’s paid a premium for this one

Hopefully the link works…
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133835628...app-cvip-panel You can see the bright brass poking through the bronze wash in places if you look closely, so not really an OSD but it is certainly pretending to be one. A moving wheel Warwickshire RHA with an applied militia ‘M’… very rare beasts As we’ve seen recently on another thread the addition of some tangs and a bronze wash can hide a lot and add an almost convincing air of authenticity to the deception. |

I certainly wouldn't buy from any seller who puts nonsense such as this in his listings.
"ALL SOLD AS SEEN PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR MY OTHER LOTS HI TO EVERYONE JUST A LITTLE NOTE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE KNOW INTENTIONS OF PAYING FOR THE ITEM NOT ONLY DOSE THIS P ME OFF IT STOP OTHERS FROM GETTING WHAT THEY WANT I DO NOT LIKE RELISTING ITEMS BECAUSE I SEE ITEMS ALL THE TIME LISTED SAYING RELISTED BECAUSE OF NON PAYMENT AND I THINK OK YOU WANT MORE MONEY FOR IT THE SAME WITH SECOND CHANCE OFFERS SO IF YOUR NOT WILLING TO PAY DO NOT BID NOT ONLY WILL I REPORT TO EBAY AND BLOCK ON MY SITE I WILL START TO NAME THE NON PAYERS IN MY LISTINGS FOR EVERYONE TO SEE MANY THANKS AND PLEASE STAY SAFE." Easily recognised in any case as one of the 'tall orb' fakes that abound on ebay. In this example a fantasy fake because Warwickshire RHA(TF) didn't have the M, the Militia having been converted into the Special Reserve in 1908 and abolished the following year with few exceptions.

Reported this seller to Ebay for selling fake badges and not sending badges! Nothing done to stop him selling!
He ought to be the one Banned from Site! & Named and Shamed, please stay away from this seller as he constantly sells Fakes! "Unfortunately they are the badges we all seek!" Go into his past sales you will see he manages to sell the same Rare badge approximately 1 per month, an example being the Royal Naval Division Officer's badge, Royal Irish Rgt Officer's Helmet Plate (my own experience! ) All the best billy |

No - OSD badges (1902) were indeed bronze, but increasingly based on (1897) G[ilding] M[etal].
