Default One off the wanted list!

Finally, after years of searching I managed to purchase the last missing key element of a Chaplain's field communion set: a 1944 dated oak wood pyx. It meaures 3x3x1 inch.

It was described as a compass box but I was fortunate to find it as the manufacturer's name was stated; they are well known for making military communion sets.

What a great find after all the years of searching; I don't suppose there are many of them in existence.

As has been stated on here numerous times, there is still stuff out there waiting to be found.

Regards.

Brian

Thanks guys!

The good thing is that I won it for £10.50 which was just a small fraction of my bid.

Congratulations, proof that research pays dividends and the bargains are out there still on well known auction sites!

Great news.
I'm so glad you finally found one!

In a similar vein I recently obtained a rare medical officers opthalmic and hypodermic medicines case being sold as a calling card case with its arrow mark.

Your wooden pyx is exactly like the one I had in my communion kit.

Thanks Matt! What made you decide to stop collecting RAChD?
