Default Armoured School Centurion Tank Sleeve Badge

On one of the forums a couple of folks were asking about the sleeve badge. I finally got around to photographong the one I have in my collection. It is the badge for the right sleeve.

Bill that correction of yours is an essential one - for the record it is "Armour School" - not Armoured School.

Sorry to be pedantic chaps but some things do need to be right or else you get confusion further down the line.

John, what are the measurements of the Centurion badge?
Just an observation. The barrel appears to be in the brace (but probably was a design necessity to keep it from breaking off when worn), which raises the question as to which way the badge was to be worn?

The brace on the badge is cosmetic because the gun cramp on a Cent is at the extreme rear of the vehicle.

As well, currently we are the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps School.

The tank sleeve badge is 5.5 cm x 2 cm. There is no maker mark on the back.
For interest sake, here are a couple of scans of the log book that came with the badge.

Looks like what we used to call a "work ticket". Kept in the troop store.

Could someone please tell an ignorant vehicle stacker where the Armour School was situated at Bovington possibly?
Regards
Jim

Hi Jim, This thread is about the Canadian RCAC school. Try posting in the British section under the Cavalry Yeo/ Tank sub-forum.

In a simpler answer, it was and still is here-Bovington Camp. It also encompasses the gunnery centre and ranges at Lulworth.

There's also the extension of that at Royal Armoured Corps Training Centre (my alma mater) at Cambrai Lines, Munster Barracks, Catterick Garrison.

If you do wish to discuss this further I respectfully suggest you do it under the "General" or "Off topic" sections. You'll find that plenty of us here have served or attended courses at either or both locations.
