Not something I like to see done with insignia on WW2 era battledress, but felt okay do so in this case as (then) modern and manky Army jerseys not so nice!

Agree with Mike. The black embroidered on green with merrowed edges rank badges are Royal Marines issue.

I picked up a couple of those RM rank insignia from the stores of a RM Commando unit at Shackleton Barracks, Ballykelly in 1979.
Only a couple, as they were in the process of being replaced by the black and green nylon woven version that was also being worn by the army. The Colour Sgt said the RM really disliked the new insignia. |
