Default WW2 British made wing used by Rhodesians ?

I have recently bought a small collection of Rhodesian badges. Amongst them was this wing which the seller claimed was a WW2 British made wing which was used by the Rhodesian forces. Now this may be so, but can anyone more versed in the detail of British airborne insignia confirm that it is a genuine WW2 era British wing ? The reverse has an aged look and looks as if its been unpicked from a uniform. This may of course be the work of a clever faker aiming to add a look of age and legitimacy. I hope not.
Can anyone help ?
Thanks
Mike
