At a boot sale in coltishall I brought some postcards and letters home from Egypt to the following man. 1915/1917 era

Trooper Harry Holmes
3rd troop
number 2280
KORR

has anyone any other info , service record/ medal roll/ KIA

This is some info on numbering posted by Paul Dixon on his site, Army Service Numbers 1881-1918, suggesting your man joined after 2/11/1914

1134 joined on25th June 1909
1220 joined on 26th April 1910
1281 joined on 16th March 1911
1339 joined on 16th February1912
1455 joined on 24th July 1913
1494 joined on 16th January 1914
1587 joined on 8th August 1914
1674 joined on 15th September 1914
1813 joined on 13th October 1914
1955 joined on 2nd November 1914

A quick glance at the MIC shows that he was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal and that he was re numbered 320257 at some point.

I didn't find any pension or service records and he doesn't appear to have been a casualty. However, I didn't go into it in great detail.
