TA Lapel Badges
I have a 1950s vintage TA lapel badge in my hand numbered 504044. Is there a register of these numbers that would identify the owner? Mike

TA lapel badges

I am unaware of a list. These badges were issued by the local TA Association, who were supposed to maintain records, therefore I would suggest that they have been binned years ago. Stephen. |

It won't help Mike's quest for an original list of badge holders but other Forum members might like to see this example of the receipt signed when the badge was issued - in this case before WW2 - which also shows that there is no correlation between the individual soldier's number and the badge number.

Jon,
Thanks. The badge in question was found today in a box of my late father's model making tools - and I was hoping it was his (issued c 1950) when he joined 47 (HC) Fd Amb RAMC (TA) and their Dental Officer/Officers' Mess Wines Member. Mike |
