Thanks for the response. I did a bit more investigating on this type of pin and found it is a mass produced machined made 'round pin brooch fastener' developed in the 1930's and still in use today. So it is possible that this is an earlier pin to what I originally suggested.

That style pin fastener is original ww2, not of the typical type, and is frequently seen on foreign made examples, but nonetheless fairly common. No worries on this DI.

Thank you for all your very interesting comments. Indeed, when I saw it on French ebay proposed by a dealer of jewels, I found it was a very nice badge.
So I am happy to manage to get it ... for 1 €.
