Default Identification of this cap?

This cap doesn't appear in the RCAF dress regs, 1958 (Amended to1966). It is airforce blue, and made by Scully. It does not match the head dress for Airwomen. Any ideas?

Check the back of the union tag. Scully usually places the date of manufacture there.

Nothing there. And I rolled down the leather sweat band, no markings on the back of it either.

Could be female police or bus driver. Check out the vintage catalogue pages on Scully's site: http://williamscully.ca/gallery2/v/c...lly/?g2_page=7

Also, why not e-mail Scully? They'd probably ID it for you, be my guess.

I am by no means an expert on headwear at all, but it looks like a WWiI vintage WRAF cap to me.

Have you seen this thread? You might want to PM the author to see if he can help?

Cheers,

Hello Andy, Clive was the first to reply in this thread. The cap is similar but not the same as the Women's RCAF.

Sorry - my bad.

I have had this picture engraved in my mind since being a small boy - this is what I was thinking of...

Actually, I had another picture in my mind - and she most definately not wearing a cap in that one....

Bill: Going back through Women Overseas: Memoirs of the Canadian Red Cross Corps, I came across two pics of women wearing what looks like this cap (p. 170 & 203 if you have access to the book). The Red Cross had dark blue uniforms. Are the lug holes about 1 1/4" apart?
