An fyi. I was shown this earlier this week, obviously a fantasy wing.

Definitely a flight of fantasy! Not even the repros sold by the Canada Aviation & Space Museum are that bad. I don't think the RCAF ever had such a thing.

The WAG of course was worn, but in 1947 the design of RCAF wing changed. Hence any around post 1952/3 would have been a different style anyway!

Not by any means saying that this wing is a genuine article, but I pulled this photo from the 1958 edition of the RCAF dress regulations. The following paragraph taken from the regs suggest the possibility of formerly qualified aircrew wearing the "closest possible" badge, perhaps meaning the wear of a single wing modified with a QC. I have seen good examples of QC single wings, including a small curved pattern Navigator's wing

Obsolete Badges
Officers or airmen who qualified for flying badges which are now obsolete
shall wear the most closely corresponding of the obsolescent badges, or, if still
active as aircrew, the appropriate current badge.
