Default Nice officers badge

Picked this up today, an early RAF or RCAF officers cap badge. Nice that it still has the paper label and metal makers plate. Just thought i would share

That's a very nice 1918 era RAF badge! I have one identical, but mine's missing the paper tag, awesome find!

A friend of mine has a couple of these with different labels, one with 'Approved' like this one and the other with something like 'patent applied for'. Nice find

I agree with Mike.....beautiful badge! Would you consider sending photos to the WW2WINGS website? I can't recall the site owner's name, however he has created a fantastic on-line reference to international military aviation related insignia. I'm certain he would greatly appreciate your contribution, as would the collector community! URL is:

Thanks,

Walt

Default Officers Cap Badge

What a wonderful example of Gaunt's 1918 RAF Officers Cap Badge. The three main components of the badge are made from Sterling Silver (silver gilt), it's nice to see the gilding intact along with the original label.
