Default French Commando Insignia

Hello,

I recently acquired this French Commando title that I believe is from the 1st Bataillon De Choc? I was also fortunate enough to be able to attend the Show of Shows Militaria Show in Louisville, Kentucky on the weekend and whilst waiting to talk to a dealer about a badge, decided to rummage through the $2 cloth bin and found the F.F.A. title. I would like to confirm this insignia belongs together as the construction, colours and writing are exactly the same?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Default Titles

I don't think they go together asd the F.F.A. is French Forces in Germany and occupation title.

Hi John,

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Looking at the photo you can see why I thought they went together due to the similiarities in construction, colour etc.

Thanks for your help

Regards

Paul

After the war in all the french army are worn shoulder titles with à lot of titles " "commandos ","fusiliers marins " , some campaigns titles or locations too "Maroc", " Tunisie" " extrême orient" , some specialist titles etc.... Usually they are red on black like during ww2.. These titles like commandos are still used Know since the 50's.
Ww2 french shoulder titles and post war are not the same. Similar but not same. The " form of banana " is not exactly as ww2
Yours are post war
Don't forget early post war french forces Were named "TOA" ( occupation troops in germany) and named FFA ( french forces in germany) after 1949 so your titles are made after 1950 at least untill the 80's
Best regards

Thanks Atlante and John for that information as it's very informative as i've rarely owned any French insignia.

Thanks
