Default I.D please modern button

Hi I have just got a standard modern British Army cap with red piping and red hat band, but I cannot recognise the buttons could some kind member help me please

I agree,unless there is some deep hidden meaning, it looks like not a lot of thought went into the design.

What you think is an uninspiring design is one of the oldest designs in the British army.
1992-1997: Adjutant General's Corps (gilt anodised)
1911-1930: Royal Army Chaplain's Corps (blackened brass only)
19th century: Staff (gilt)
18th century: various (woven button, type name: death head)

The design is a particular woven pattern used for cloth covered buttons. The leaf border is seen on many 18th century military buttons.
